3. Tax-deductible cross-border donations🌍

All For Climate is currently exploring ways to make cross-border donations tax-deductible for our supporters. Since we are registered in Belgium, we can only offer tax deductions to donors based in Belgium once we become tax liable.

However, a European network called Transnational Giving Europe (TGE) helps nonprofits receive donations from other countries in a way that qualifies for local tax deductions. That said, there are a few important things to keep in mind:

  • Donors must first donate via the TGE partner in their own country.
If a donation is made directly to us or through the OC platform before going through the TGE partner, it cannot become tax-deductible retroactively.
  • The local TGE partner takes a 5% fee for processing and handling the donation.
  • Funds are transferred based on the TGE partner's internal schedule, which may be monthly, quarterly, or annually, depending on the country.
  • Tax receipts will be issued by the TGE partner, according to their procedures and timelines, not by A4C.
  • Once we receive the funds, we will manually credit the donation to your balance, applying our standard host fee.
Please note: TGE transfers the full donation amount as a single sum per country, so you must also keep us informed about all related donations.

All For Climate must apply to join the TGE network country by country, and each application takes time and effort. If you have a significant number of donors in a particular country, such as France, who would want to use this setup, please let us know by emailing info@allforclimate.earth.

⚠️ Please note: we can only apply for a country if the expected donation volume is substantial, as TGE may not process our request otherwise.

4. Updates from the fiscal host💚

For the first 3 months of the year, this is what All For Climate has been up to:

  • Since our last newsletter, 15 new collectives have joined our network. A warm welcome to Green Silk Road, Make Toursists pay, Zéro pesticides de synthèse, International Regenerative Cultures website, Encampment VUB, XR Leuven, Hermes Research Collective, XRIreland, XR Pink Medics, XR ST Etienne, XR Auxerre, Art Not Genocide Alliance, Collaborative Finance Gathering and Resilient Uprising!
  • We have paid 357 expenses and received 2866 contributions.
  • We concluded the 2024 Climate Emergency Fund Grant report and sent an application for a new one to budget part of our operational costs in 2025.
  • We completed the budget sheet for All For Climate activities in 2025.
  • We drafted a strategy assessment from the founding of A4C to our plans for 2025 and the future.
  • Following a thorough clean-up process, we unhosted 65 inactive collectives that haven't been active since August 2023. This allowed us to allocate some money to active collectives or the treasury of A4C.
  • We joined meetings with other Fiscal Hosts to create a network and exchange best practices and ideas.
  • We started a working group to update the cooperation agreement between A4C and the collective admins. Let us know if you still want to join!
  • We created a slideshow on the activities and outcomes of A4C for 2024.
  • We began preparing an annual report for 2024.
  • We researched potential grants to apply for in 2025 to fund some of our activities and cover some of our operational costs.
  • We revamped our website.

Just so you know, we coordinate all our calls and activities on our Discord server. You are very welcome to join!

5. Statistics without borders📅

Through the Open Collective platform, we can always transparently share key financial data—such as the number of expenses processed, the amount donated, and the total amount received in Euros. While this quantitative data is valuable and interesting, we're eager to understand something more profound at All For Climate: our collectives' impact on their communities and movements.

We want to know, amongst other things:

  • How many actions are being organised by our collectives?
  • What does the online or media presence of our collectives look like?
  • How many people are being mobilised?
  • And most importantly, how can we support you even better?

We often receive these kinds of questions from potential funders, but we don’t have the full picture to answer them right now.

To help us gather these insights, we’re excited to partner with Statistics Without Borders, whose team will work with us pro bono to map out this broader impact. As part of this collaboration, we'll soon send a short questionnaire to you and your community.

We’d be incredibly grateful if you could take a moment to share your voice when the time comes. Your input will help us—and the broader movement—grow stronger and more connected.

Thank you in advance for your support!

6. Fundraising/granting tips💰

Last year, we organised the Money For Movements workshop series and want to remind you that the materials from the series remain available on: docs.allforclimate.earth.

Apart from that, we also want to raise your attention to some potential grants:

6. Earth Day🌻

Did your collective take action for Earth Day?
We’d love to hear about it! 🌍✨ Share your initiative with us and we’ll feature it in our next newsletter and on social media.

Let’s celebrate your impact together! 💚
