  1. Open Collective Foundation dissolution, clarification 📢

Open Collective Foundation is an independent entity that has been providing fiscal hosting services to more than 600 collectives. Recently their dissolution was announced alongside the stop of their activities (https://docs.opencollective.foundation/).

To start, we would first like to clarify that any changes regarding Open Collective Foundation will not have any impact on the services provided by All For Climate to you. Open Collective's services are independent and provided by a separate company, and as such, OpenCollective.com will continue to operate as usual without any interruption.

We cannot deny that this news raises concerns, particularly in light of the closure of another fiscal host in 2023 (report).

In the upcoming month, All For Climate will work on another public report to assess the reasons behind this closure and how we (and other fiscal hosts) can better structure ourselves to deal with future storms. Please reach to us if you would like to support us in this report.

  1. Future proof A4C 🌳

All for Climate aspires to become a robust pillar in Europe's climate and social justice movement for the years ahead. Recognizing the challenges faced by fiscal hosts in our vicinity, we are committed to making significant investments in achieving financial and legal sustainability.

To outline our path, we have crafted a roadmap for 2024, detailing the core steps required to realize these goals. The map is being updated every month.

As a collaborative non-profit, we highly value the input and support of you and your collective. In the near future, we'll send out a questionnaire to gather more insights into your needs, activities, and opinions regarding the steps we intend to take.

We would appreciate it immensely if you contribute on masse for a future proof All For Climate!

  1. Tip from the Fiscal Host 🌞

This is a friendly heads-up to share with your donors that by default, their donation will include a 15% tip for open collective (see below). This tip does not support A4C as a fiscal host but the platform OC.

To skip the tip, simply click on “no thank you” or “edit”, followed by "I don't want to contribute". We're convinced that your hard-earned money could be put to better use for your collective’s cause, so we recommend spreading the word on your website or socials.
Let's maximize the impact of your support! Happy Fundraising!

Should you have any lingering questions about the platform or other specific needs on your mind, feel free to reach out to us at info@allforclimate.earth 💚

  1. Tips from the Resilience Academy to build Emotional Resilience 💚
  • Cultivate a Supportive Community: Connect with like-minded individuals who share your passion for environmental activism. Building a supportive community allows activists to share experiences, exchange coping strategies, and offer mutual encouragement. Surrounding yourself with people who understand the challenges strengthens your emotional support network.
  • Set Boundaries: Establish clear boundaries to prevent overwhelm. Activists often feel a strong sense of responsibility, but it's essential to recognize personal limits. Setting boundaries may involve allocating specific times for activism, learning to say no when necessary, taking social media breaks, and taking time off to recharge.

  • Focus on Achievable Goals: Break down larger activism goals into smaller, more achievable tasks. As activists, we can become overwhelmed when confronted with the enormity of ecological challenges and other compounding crises. By concentrating on manageable objectives, we can maintain a sense of accomplishment and avoid feeling paralyzed by the scale of the issues.
  • Practice Mindfulness: Incorporate mindfulness techniques into your daily routine. Mindfulness techniques, such as deep breathing exercises, mindful eating, or mindfulness meditation, can help us stay grounded and focused on the present moment. It allows us to acknowledge and process emotions without being consumed by them, fostering emotional resilience.
