Climate for All project awarded šŸ†

We're excited to announce that our project, Climate for All is now awarded by the European Union!

Climate Resilience Day 2024, focusing on strategies for preparing for future environmental challenges.

If you need a refresher, Climate for All is a partnership between five non-profit organisations from different countries in Europe, through which games of various types are designed to explicitly develop sustainability competences. The project also accompanies those games with workshops that help understand what competences you may have developed by playing our games, and how to put them to practice in local climate action. By the end of this year you'll be able to both download the print & play versions of our games, and find the nearest workshops in your area, or even get trained to become a Climate for All facilitator and host a workshop in your area yourself!

Back to the award. Our project was selected among 95 submissions as one of the most inspiring green education projects of the European Unionā€™s Education for Climate Community! It won in the category of Learning Scenarios for Green Competences.

Make sure to follow the award ceremony on November 28!

Statement on COP 29 by Scientist Rebellion šŸ“£

COP 29 is a fossil fuel scam

A graph illustrating the Earth's temperature trends over time, highlighting significant fluctuations and patterns.

For almost three decades the UN COP Climate Conferences have failed to deliver meaningful change. They have served as a ā€˜talking shopā€™ with the big polluters given seats at the top table to cast doubt over the sciences and delay meaningful action.

This Novemberā€™s COP29 event opens under the same bad auspices of last year. A petro-state ā€“ Azerbaijan - once again assumes the COP Presidency. As Sultan al-Jaber was, COP29 president Mukhtar Bahadur is once again an oil executive, having worked in various roles for the Azerbaijan state-owned oil company SOCAR since the 1990s. Putting oil executives in charge of oil reduction is nothing short of a sham that preys on our inability to fight back.

In addition to causing the indirection deaths of millions, Azerbaijan is responsible for the direct deaths of its own ethnic minorities. The persecution of the ethnic Armenian population as well as restrictions on freedom of speech and peaceful protest are serious concerns. Between 2020 and 2022 Azerbaijan invaded the region of Nagorno-Karabakh, mostly populated by Armenians, in a war that resulted in suspected war crimes and in the displacement of more than 100.000 people. There is no climate justice without social justice: the promotion of human rights and climate action must go hand in hand to secure a peaceful and just future.

Originally conceived as platform for Global South countries to have a say in Climate Change solutions, the Conference of Parties has been perverted into a fossil fuel fair. What should be an opportunity to discuss radical reparation for the environmental and social damage of colonial origin they suffered. Instead, the power is placed in the exact hands of those who have the least interest to change the current pathways.

Last year, the United Arab Emirates made a mockery of COP28 by abusing their position as conference president to sign oil & gas contracts. This this came as no surprise surprise, as the COP28 President Sultan al-Jaber leads a company that pumped 2.7m barrels of oil a day in 2021, with plans to double that by 2027 and claimed that there is ā€œno scienceā€ behind calls for a phase out of fossil fuels. And we must state this clearly: fossil fuels are the principal cause of the global climate emergency that humanity faces.

Furthermore, the number of fossil fuel industry lobbyist present at COP has nearly quintupled in the past three years. In 2021, at the COP26 gathering in Glasgow, Scotland, there were 503 fossil fuel lobbyists present. That increased to 636 at COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, in 2022, before ballooning to a whopping 2,456 last year in Dubai.

We support a binding Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty for a fast, fair, and just transition, inspired by the strong shifts of pathways initiated by the Nuclear Weapons Non-Proliferation Treaty and the 1987 Montreal Protocol that achieved united action to prevent the protection of substances that damage the ozone layer. Itā€™s time of a COP on the side of the people. We demand a treaty that is rooted in science, not petrostate profits.

Scientist Rebellion is an international movement of scientists and academics from more than 32 countries. They are united by the realization that research, publications, lectures and policy advice are not enough to bring their findings into politics and society. They therefore resort to peaceful means of civil disobedience and resistance. The Climate Emergency Fund supports the mobilization, training, structure building and educational work of Scientist Rebellion. Scientist Rebellion is fiscally hosted by All for Climate and their statement above was published as shared by the collective.

Mark your Calendars for our Upcoming Resilience Circle šŸ“…

The Resilience Circles from the Resilience Academy are back! These circles are a unique space to help navigate the emotional challenges of the ecological emergency.

In these Circles, Day Sanchez, our Lead Mental Health and Wellness Specialist, shares different tools, resources, and practices to strengthen our capacity to face these tough times with emotional resilience, strength, and clarity. They are an opportunity to heal in community and feel nourished and empowered to continue doing the important work we do to support the healing of our planet.

After a short pause and reflection time, we are exploring sustainable ways to offer these circles again in a consistent way. We would love to invite you all to the next Resilience Circle on

Tuesday, December 17th at 7:00 pm CET/1:00 pm EST.

Mark your calendars and visit the Wellness Hub on our Discord server for the event link coming up!

We canā€™t wait to get together again!šŸŖ“
